⚓ Resistance: The #1 thing holding you back from achieving your goals.

Sail freely without anything holding you down.

Do you ever feel like you just can’t start something? Like it’s dragging you down like an anchor?

All these physical and mental manifestations happen due to resistance.

Happiness is the feeling that power increases — that resistance is being overcome.

Nietzsche

Resistance is an oppositional force (and a self-protecting mechanism) that is caused by the thought of wanting to do something, usually new and outside of our comfort zone.

Like a boat who’s purpose is to sail, wind, rain, storms and all. Yet it is held back by its own anchor. Holding it back completely to wither in a port, or slowing down its journey.

Even with every hardship waiting, a ship is not meant for the shore.

Resistance is caused by limiting beliefs, fears, and certain projections that were programmed into us. It’s important to be aware of the symptoms of resistance and deal with the thoughts that arise through:

  • Finding out what this belief is protecting you from, and working through it. You might think having a lot of money is good for you while your subconscious believes that money is evil, and thus it’s trying to protect you by hindering any of your progress.

  • Provide yourself with proof of the opposite. Look at all the evidence that supports a positive belief. You’ll find people who have a lot of money yet are still kind. If it’s possible for many people it can be so for you too.

In order to work with resistance, you have to first identify it, accept your feelings and work through them, and realize why it’s important to start. Because some amount of work is always needed.

Remember that it is easier and more efficient to remove the weight and sail freely.

📝 Author’s Note:

Hey! I hope you’re having a great week.

I used to deal with a lot of resistance when it came to my personal goals, but I’ve seen enough proof that supports the fact that it is safe to do what I want, and that I actually am deserving of it. Things like being a writer or living my dream life. This is your reminder to let go of the beliefs that no longer serve you.

See you next week!
